So today I am working in the Bakery. We are always busy there but really busy right now. I guess in the winter we bake over 50,000 cookies and we are going through them like hotcakes right now. When people take the wagon ride, they talk about getting a cookie at the Bakery and so people always seem to remember that. I was giving tours outside, while the inside was full of people, then running them through to see all of the things I told them about. Youth conferences are here from Mississippi and Oklahoma and lots of young people. One of the boys asked if he could touch my dress and then they all wanted to see how much fabric I was wearing in this heat and humidity! I will tell you, over 10 yards!
There were family reunions that are seriously organized. They all had laminated cards of when and where they were supposed to be. Tickets already reserved etc. They were on a Nauvoo scavenger hunt with pictures to be taken each time they found something. Pretty impressive.
I love making connections with the people who come through here. I always ask where they are from etc. So today, one of my first tours happened to be a family that know Clark and Emily and were with Jenny and Paul in Washington DC this last week for Jonah’s blessing! I was their first tour and there I was at the Bakery!!!!!!
He said he feels much better knowing the military is in hands as capable as Clark’s!!! Amen. Every night that we sing in Sunset, we have a military tribute. I always sing especially “well,” on the Navy song in behalf of Clark and Nolan. I am proud of them as well.
Very nice family from Spanish Fork. This young girl has Liz Rosenbaum for her Young Women’s leader! See Liz, you are even famous in Nauvoo!
So in total today, we gave over 50 tours and no telling how many people. One group I took through had 48 in it!!!! We are going to pageant tonight and so expect more pictures and report. I am thinking by the end of my mission, this journal is going to make a pretty big book. Well, I guess things will slow down in the winter. I may be begging for stories by then.
Mother and Daddy and Jonathan come tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t wait!!!!!!
