BIRTHDAY IN NAUVOO………………

So here I am again, another birthday under my ample belt!  I cannot believe that I am 59 years old.  Almost ancient in some ways, but then again, these are the best of times.  Maybe because the stress over my children has lessened down to the level of nail biting, knee bending and extreme anxiety, but never the less, things seem better this year than last.
I have to be honest and say that it was a hard birthday for me.  I was really homesick and missing my family.  At least a hug from a child or a mother and dad would have made things much better.  I worked at the John Taylor home and that is always nice.  I never sat down my entire shift, we were that busy.  But my day did start out with a gift from my Heavenly Father.  It was OVERCAST AND MUCH COOLER! At least for part of the day and that was awesome.  My very favorite weather.
I came home and baked cookies to share with my Emma Hales cast.  I think they loved them I didn’t bring one cookie home.  So they sang to me and it was really nice.  So many wonderful people.  Then Richard and I did George and Agatha, and I survived so I guess that was a gift as well.  I got calls from my children and parents and notes on Facebook.

A few days later the cards and packages came from Jerianne and Janae!  Thank you so much.  Jerianne, has really outdone herself with my gifts resting in little balloons!!!! Plus confetti, sparkley, my favorite kind.

Lip gloss, earrings, fingernail polish, and a bracelet!  What more could a girl ask for?

The Jackman’s sent me a plaque that I love, and Gobstoppers, and Cherries!  I am set…………………………………………………………………

A few cards from people here in the mission…………………………………
The Openshaws had us over for fried chicken on Sunday night to celebrate and then we went to a fireside put on by the YPM’S.  Honestly the most amazing young kids ever.  I was in tears once again, but they presence they have is incredible.

I absolutely adore these young people.  So talented but also so GOOD!  Sweet, kind, loving, fun.  This will be a sad place when they leave.

I have just received a call to be the assistant site director for the Brigham Young Home.  I am not sure what all that entails but will do my best.  I do know that it means I will work two days a week there, however.  There is a mouse in that house right now and unless they catch it, I am MIA!!!!

  1. Wow. My packaged arrived in pretty forlorn condition. I guess I'll never try that idea again. Not sure what you have to do to make sure they get there intact.

I just hope you had a decent birthday. I imagine you can't have a wonderful birthday when you are away from everyone. But know that we were thinking about you.

Congratulations on your promotion! You'll have to let us all know how that goes.
