Sweet Goodbyes

Well, we have been here five hard days. Wednesday afternoon I had to get another shot for Hepatitis.  At least it wasn’t the Japanese encephalitis which some of our friends had to get, but wouldn’t you know it……Thursday afternoon I was in bed and SICK!  Chills, fever, sweats, aching like no other and I am still not feeling well today.  I guess that happens sometimes with the injections and of course my lucky number came up.
It was time to say good bye to some of our newly made friends and to our young teachers that have been so wonderful.

The McBrides from Cache Valley are going to Shiprock, New Mexico (a reservation).

The Lee’s from Arizona are going to Cove Fort.  She is 85 and a pistol! She has had a stroke, some heart problems and been through three husbands before she found one that would take her on  a mission.  They have been married ten years.  I don’t have half the grit that she does….

This is our district…..Our district president is Robert Mathews and wouldn’t you know it, he knows Paul Scharman!  It is a small world.  We really like them and have spent many meals and time with them.  They are of course from Houston and are on their way to the Cape Verde Islands 350 miles off of the coast of Africa.  No way, Jose!

One of our cute instructors, Brother Barney.  He was great and our morning instructor was Tom Meyer.  Amazing young men. I had them laughing quite a bit.

Well, I am trying to keep my promise for a picture a day.  I am still not feeling well and am going to go lay back down.  Is it time to go home yet?
