IS IT TIME TO GO HOME YET?

So much preparation went into getting here.  Medical forms until I saw them in my sleep, shots, script refills, tests of one kind or another, (some very evasive) trying to find the right clothes, pioneer dresses, pantaloons, aprons, tights, shoes with no decoration, closed toed to be exact and the list goes on and on. So in complying with the closed toe policy here at the MTC I bought a new pair of shoes that were supposed to be sooooooo comfortable.  I have blisters on both big toes and both little toes.  How could that have happened you ask.  Well, it took a lot of smarts on my part.  Limping and complaining I finally decided to walk barefoot and take the chance of being thrown out…..( I guess you have to do a  lot more than that to get to go home)  Looked inside these wonderful new shoes and wouldn’t you know it…….The cardboard toe had been left in the shoes!!!!! Now here I am, blisters and with the cardboard removed, they are now too big.  Wouldn’t you like me to be teaching your discussions!!!!!!
And now on to the stressful part of the day.  We have been in classes all morning and all afternoon learning how to give the discussions!

Excuse me, I thought I was just going to be paranoid about dancing, singing, and being a tour guide.  Tomorrow they are actually bringing people in for us to practice on!  I am sick to my stomach and having so many sympathy pains for not understanding how hard it must have been for Jonathan, and to have learned Spanish at the same time would have driven me over the edge.  I have a new found respect for my sons!  I am either crying or laughing here and don’t see me settling down anytime soon,  Whom the Lord calls He qualifies, whom the Lord calls he qualifies, whom the Lord calls………….
We have finished off our evening with a devotional!

Elder Todd Christofferson was the speaker. An actual general authority.  The room was full of 2,000 missionaries singing to the top of their lungs.  Called to Serve, one of Richard’s favorites, was amazing.  Then everyone stood quietly while he entered. He spoke about us literally “bearing” the kingdom of God to the world.  He said that we were companions to the Twelve who have the same commission as we do. He  drove away tonight and I HAPPENED to be on the curb to wave to him.  He gave me the thumbs up sign!!!!!!!!
Well on to study time with my companion.

  1. That is amazing! I'm glad you are getting the chance to have those experiences. You will have so many more like it. There's no telling what is in your future. I love you and miss you!

  2. FYI mother, those Dansko's are supposed to be big. They are supposed to slip off your heal like a clog. If you get them to "fit" they will be FAR worse, I did that once and it was horribly painful. Awesome experience, I am kind jealous that you are getting to feel the spirit everyday! You are doing awesome! Keep up the hard work! I love you both!

  4. You have me crying too - probably not for the same reasons. You are still there; so all is well - right?
