Today I worked at Lucy Mack Smith’s home. I started out my day with training meeting, then on to work with a new sister who has only been out two and a half weeks. Boy do I remember that fear and panic! I could just see it in her eyes, and I tried to calm her down. Someday I hope to be able to get up and go to the bathroom without automatically starting to sing, “hello everybody!” That is my goal……………………………………….So glad that I am over the fear of the first few months.
I also worked with a single Sister Missionary and a Young Performing Missionary who plays in the band.
Sister Leiber and Sister Umpenhour. Very inspiring young women who are so “together,” and I continue to learn from these young ladies on a daily basis.
Then I get a call from the sewing room and my “show dress,” is done!!!!! I think I am the only one who doesn’t have one yet and I am excited. I had to choose gold, but I would rather have had purple. Sister Daybell said that I needed to have gold…….So here I am.
They do a very nice job and heaven knows, I couldn’t have done it for myself. Thank you sisters! I will try and make Agatha proud! (Except there is not way to make up for that awful cap that I have to wear.) I am not murmuring, just explaining things to those who are far away!!!!!
On to Rendezvous. I have been put in charge of our Cast Party and honoring those who will be leaving. So we are going to have our cast picture taken out on the steps of the Cultural Hall. Then I am going to do something with them as a going away gift. I will let you know how things turn out.
I wish I were in that picture and you had your arm around me. I really miss you and feel like I haven't had the chance to talk to you in forever.
ReplyDeleteI love your show dress. I think it is very pretty and it looks so fancy. I think you'll look great in gold and I'm kind of surprised you would turn gold down. However, I, too, and drawn to purple so...
Love you!
